And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints, Ps 89:5.
Living in a certain place, I had gone to sleep around midnight suddenly I began to hear noise around the rooftop. The noise persisted, and over time, it began to bore me. It was like a thorn in the flesh.
The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I suffered distress and anguish. Ps 116:3.
I suffered anguish as a result of what I was seeing and due to the fact that my plea and supplication seemed not to be heard. As I closed me eyes to sleep having done all that I could without prevailing, the noise persisted and my condition worsened.
Every moment my eyes were closed, I saw evil things. Then I cried and yelled, but there was no help. It got worse as the night dragged on. It was clear that no help will come my way, if not from the Lord.
Then with all within me in the pit of destruction, darkness and distress, I said Lord if you are my God, show yourself, and I will testify of your works. Barely had I finished speaking had the power of God thundered from heaven upon the rooftop that night and destroyed the terror of the night. I did not see any of those evil things again. May the Lord be praised for his works of salvation.
Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation, Ps 146:3. At all times, we are admonished to put our trust in the Lord in whom there is salvation, who does not fail. Whether in the pit, valley or the mountaintop, his mercy endures forever. Our love must be unto the Lord, as well as unto ourselves, and our neighbours; for love is the greatest, according to the Gospel.
