The Rain Stalled At His Word – Persisting In Faith

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament, Heb 7:22. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Heb 7:25.

Continuing steadfastly in prayer is a command rooted in love. Whatsoever we ask in prayer; believing, we shall receive, Mark 11:24. The foregoing Scripture is one that assures us that God answers us in his love when we pray and believe, not doubting. All of God’s promises are built on his perfect love. And there is no fear in love, as it is written, for fear causes torment. And the love of God constrains us, 2 Cor 5:14.

In all circumstances, his Word is the Light and the Lamp by which we thread. As I held onto the Word in peril in a wild location as in all times, by the grace of God, there was a manifestation: for Christ is our surety and Passover lamb. As a Priest, he saves to the uttermost and he lives to make intercession for them who come to God by him.

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament, Heb 7:22. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Heb 7:25.

We had gone to a hilly area to pray in Johannesburg. On reaching the lonely place with thick bushes, rain started falling. It was so intense that the Bible I was holding in my hand was drenched in the rain. The rain continued falling; then I had the burden to pray. I asked the Lord in prayer either his Word comes to pass according to my belief in his Word for the rain to stop, or he should let it continue.

As I called on the Lord to honour his Word, believing that he will do what he says he will do, in the cold and lonely location, the power of God moved, miraculously, the rain stopped! It was not the first time the Lord had honoured his Word, and stopped the rain from falling in a remote area during heartfelt cry and prayers. So we stayed uphill till dawn and there was no rain during the time we stayed up there. It was a wonder that brought us relief given that there was no shelter nearby.

God’s immutable Word is settled in heaven. He cannot lie to us, neither can he repent. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Num 23:17. So in peril or safety, his Word is settled. His name is a strong tower and his salvation is sure.
