The morning was filled with expectation. The day was filled with joy. We had woken up to a gloomy dawn and it dawned on us that we had to break through, for the atmosphere was as thick as brass.
The three of us who had gathered in the name of the Lord raised a song. As we were singing and praising the Lord, a wave-like demon in vain tried to lift me off the ground in the room, located in Zhejiang – I cannot say if the others experienced such a thing. The room was in a student hostel.
As we sang and prayed, lifting up our voices, God gave us abundant grace in the strange land with fetish practices and sinful acts, and by faith, the enemy was famished. The grace of God which is a gift of God unto us comes through faith. For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God. Eph 2:8.
Never was such a thing seen in the land. The gods were famished: the Lord will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen. Zeph 2:11.
Where sin abounded, grace much more abounded: moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. Rom 5:20. Truly, the land was a strange place. But in the midst of all that, the Lord did great deeds and mighty wonders that are innumerable to recount. He does not fail nor hide his teachings from us, when we believe:
I am living in a strange land: do not let your teachings be kept secret from me. Ps 119:19.
